Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Carla Ruschival presented her report for April. Carla reported the stock reserve balance reflects the recent improved performance by the stock market. She also stated that KCB received $4000 from the Downtown Louisville Lions Club ($3000 for Sound Prints and $1000 for GLCB Roundabout.) This will not be reflected until May since the check had not cleared. Carla reported she has paid ACB as follows: $1545 for membership dues, $100 for the Charlie Hodge Angel Page, $500 for the Jim Shaw Angel Page and $100 for the two Braille Forum raffle tickets. The payments are not reflected in the April report. Rick Boggess made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. The motion was seconded by Deb Trevino and unanimously approved.

Committees
PR/Membership: Rick Boggess reported the committee met on May 4. We hope to highlight some chapter activities in the June newsletter so anyone with information should get it to Rick or Carla in the next week or two. Calendar and webpage updates continue. Board summaries for 2013 have been added and a few 12012 summaries and State Convention summaries will be added in the near future. Joey and Amanda continue to do a good job updating our Facebook page. We continue to work on updating contacts on the four year college campuses—we have contacts at UK, Murray, Western, Bellarmine and Morehead. The email lists have been reorganized and moved to our website and Carla continues to work on updating addresses. Several posts to the new KCB news list have been forwarded to Office for the Blind staff which means we are reaching more people. Carla reported the May 15 Sound Prints has an interview with 2006 KSB graduate Darren Harbour discussing his experiences in theater and modeling. Jennifer Wright posted information about the interview to OFB staff since he was their outstanding consumer in 2014. In addition, Carla received a call from a counselor in New York who plans to share the interview with a client who is interested in theater.
Old Business
Joey Couch reminded the board about the $200 KCB stipend available to those attending the national convention in Minneapolis. To be eligible to the stipend, members must attend the Sunday night or Friday session plus one other session during the week.
New Business
Carla Ruschival indicated she learned about some new services available from Gator, our web hosting service. One of the services involves placing our large Sound Prints audio files in their cloud based service rather than on our site. This might resolve some issues experienced by those trying to listen online. Deb Trevino made a motion that KCB pay $50 to transfer the files to the cloud provided the change does not have significant negative impact on our current webpage. Rick Boggess seconded the motion which was unanimously approved.
Carla Ruschival reported No major actions were taken at the SRC meeting on April 22. Shirley Stivers has been elected vice chair for the coming year.
Carla Ruschival announced that Deb Deatherage was one of eight to receive the DKM Leadership Award and will be attending the national convention this summer. Approximately 30 people applied.
Announcements and Adjournment
Elaine Weisbard made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Rick Boggess and unanimously approved. The meeting adjourned at 8:45 PM.
