Old Business
None.
New Business
In response to a question from Bill Wright, Debbie Deatherage reported that about 9 or 10 KCB members (plus about four Bluegrass Council members) attended the ACV national convention. Deb indicated there were lots of good sessions and exhibits but that the food prices and restaurant hours in the hotel were somewhat problematic. She also reported that the indoor navigation system used in the convention hotel seems to have potential.
Rick Boggess indicated that the Sunday afternoon session dealing with paratransit, sponsored by the Environmental Access and Transportation Committees, was excellent. Joey Couch reported that many of the sessions can be downloaded from the ACB Radio archive page. In response to a question from Bill Roberts, Joey Couch indicated that national convention attendance numbers will probably be reported in the next ACB Braille Forum.
Rick Boggess indicated he listened to the NFB scholarship awards since one of his former students was awarded a scholarship. He observed that another scholarship recipient has had a long history with ACB Radio. This reaffirms the need for ACB to explore ways to attract and retain younger members. Newly-elected ACB Board member Jeff Bishop alluded to the need to address this problem during his interview on the July 19 edition of Sound Prints.
Announcements and Adjournment
Joey Couch asked if there were any announcements. When none were offered, Rick Boggess made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by Natalie Beyers and unanimously approved. The meeting adjourned at 8:44 PM.
